Here is a quick Flanders tour guide.

Day 1

Begin your adventure from the Cloth Hall, situated in Ypres.  Start following the bronze rivet that is set into stones, taking up around three miles from the Heritage Footpath. These rivets give you an outline of Cloth Hall and the Saint Martin’s Cathedral.

Your next stop should be the Vauban Ramparts which have been preserved in an excellent manner. Traceable to around 10 centuries ago in the Middle Ages, they have become a vast complex of bastions, ramparts and moats which were built by Marshal Sebastian Vauban, a French military architect. Today, they are covered with beautiful trees, sparkling waters and inhibited by wild life. The Ramparts Cemetery is also 90 minutes away on foot.

Another great stop is the Pacific Island restaurant which is also close by; a great place for a quick meal that can charge you up for the remaining journey.

Day 2

Begin your tour on the second day from the Menin Faye Memorial, which is located in eastern town. The Oxford Road Cemetery is two miles away, and from there, you can go to the Memorial Museum Passchendaele, which has interesting stories to share.

The Polygon Wood and the Sanctuary Wood are other places that are worth a visit.
