The world has become obsessed with the latest gadgets and you can’t turn your head without spotting a high tech device. So we thought we’d walk you through the top apps to make sure your coach holiday goes without a hitch…
1. Airline Apps
Depending on who you’re travelling with, most airlines have a handy app to keep you updated on your travel details. Airlines such as British Airways, Easyjet and Virgin all have useful apps that store boarding passes, gate details and delay information so it is all easily accessible without fumbling through your never ending bag.
2. HotelPal
So you’ve got your flights sorted and now you need to find a place to stay. Whether it’s a last minute trip or planned well in advance, this app will help you find hotels in the area you want to go to and provide photos, lists of amenities and descriptions to help you to choose.
3. Auto Europe
Covering over 130 countries worldwide, this nifty car hire app enables you to reserve a car and retrieve all your reservation details in just a few clicks.
4. Currency
Before you dish out the dosh, it’s always best to check you’re getting the best conversion rate first, to ensure your money is stretching as far as possible. The Currency app allows you to check this instantly.
5. Pocketguide
Who says you have to pay extortionate rates for guided tours while you’re away? Pocketguide is a free app that holds information for 65 famous cities so covers the majority of holiday locations; and provides you with your own personal audio guide.
6. Skype
Whether you’re travelling alone or with friends or family, there’s always likely to be people back home that you want to keep in touch with. The Skype app simply requires you to connect to Wi-fi and then you’re ready to chat away at a fraction of the price it would be to call.
7. World Nomad
Parlez-vous Français or sprechen sie Deutsch? Well this free and easy to use translator app will help you to speak the lingo like a local!
8. iBooks
We here at Door2Tour coach trips are fed up of the pages in our books getting wet, crinkled and falling out all over the place. IBooks allows you to download books straight onto your iPhone or IPad, so even if you don’t have the latest e-reader or Kindle, you can still jump on the bandwagon. It will save valuable space in your case too!
9. Sit or Squat
We’ve all had a time when we’ve been caught a bit short in an unknown area and suddenly need the loo. But where’s the restroom? This ingenious app will tell you exactly that! Plus it even gives you some cheeky snaps of the bathrooms so you can pick the one that most takes your fancy.
10. Postagram
Now I don’t know one person who hasn’t had the frustration of sending a postcard whilst on holiday, yet arriving home before the postcard actually gets there. Postagram eliminates this issue entirely! It allows you to take pictures on your IPhone or Android, personalise them, and then send them instantly to friends back home.
11. Suntan Watcher
With the “you’ve been tangoed” Essex look on the up, this app is an essential to ensure you get a natural glow rather than turning red raw. It allows you to set a timer for you to turn over, reapply your sunblock and even check your loved ones sunblock.
