The Biggest Gigs of 2016 in Birmingham

ConcertBirmingham is a major city of England known for its Revolution-era landmarks, museums, shopping centres and restaurants. Another thing this bustling city is known for is its love of open air concerts and events that line up the calendar from January to December each year. Birmingham is blessed with not one but two gigantic venues where the biggest artists come out to play. The Genting Arena and Barclaycard Arena both attract some of the largest crowds on a regular basis. So, without further ado, here are the biggest concert events that are expected in 2016.

Genting Arena

Slipknot – February 12
After their triumph at last year’s Download Festival, Slipknot returns once again to Birmingham to run their fans through their favourite singles from their chaotic past.

Wet Wet Wet – February 26
Love is going to be all around us in February 26 when Marti Pellow and the gang tour the circuit at Birmingham. Despite being in the game for over thirty years the band still knows how to pull a significant crowd no matter where they’re playing.

The Vamps – March 25/26
If you’re looking for cheap ticket options then the Vamps’ homecoming show is expected to be the cheapest option out there which continues their trend of giving back to their fans.

Barclaycard Arena

Ellie Goulding – March 21
Ellie Goulding is set to hit the whole of England by storm in 2016. With a new album Delirium out, you can expect to see the young star shine on March 21.

UB40 – May 1
Birmingham fans will get to feast their eyes and ears on yet another homecoming of an iconic band UB40. This time around Ali Campbell is going to introduce his version of reggae like you’ve never heard it before.

Dixie Chicks – April 29
The Dixie Chicks have been huge at concert events since the late 90s and it seems like they’ve haven’t run out of steam yet. Expect to hear the band belt out your favourite songs from Goodbye Earl and Landslide to the more commercially successful music.

So, these were just some of the concert events to expect in the first few months of 2016 if you are planning a trip to Birmingham.
