A Magical Time at Disneyland Paris…

Disneyland ParisEvery now and again we get invited on trips to the destinations we sell to improve our knowledge for our customers. Caroline, our Sales & Customer Service Coordinator, was lucky enough to be invited to Disneyland Paris this month. Here’s her latest blog about her experience.

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Disney, so you can imagine how excited I was to be invited to Disneyland Paris. The jam-packed itinerary was spread over three days. As we’re based in the South East in Kent I set off on the Eurostar from Ashford International. The service was direct to Disneyland Paris and took just 2 hours 09 minutes (2 hours 48 minutes from London Ebbsfleet).

We were staying at the fabulous Newport Bay Hotel. The hotel has a great nautical theme and the rooms are very spacious.

Even as a big Disney fan I’ve never experienced the famous Buffalo Bills show! As a result I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but considering it is one of the most popular added extras, it must be pretty good, right? Before the show starts there is a small stage with cowboy stunts, singing, dancing and even an appearance from Goofy got everyone in the mood and ready for the main event. As you enter, straight away you are wowed by the size of the arena that takes centre stage.

Once seated, it isn’t long before the action starts. Cowboys, Indians and Disney Characters, I can see why it is a popular added extra, especially for families. A three course meal and drinks are served whilst you enjoy the show. On the menu was chilli for starters, BBQ style food for main (chicken drumsticks, ribs, sausage and roasted new potatoes) and dessert was apple crumble.

After the show I had some free time to familiarise myself with the park before heading to the Castle for the highly anticipated illuminations. And in true Disney style, it didn’t disappoint. The Sleeping Beauty Castle was lit up in all its glory and various snippets from a variety of films were projected onto the castle in time to music and fireworks. It really was amazing to see.

Breakfast in the Newport Bay has something for everyone. Traditional french pastries, cereals, fruit and yogurts for the health conscious and then the hot breakfast choices in addition to the continental options. I would definitely recommend upgrading to a breakfast package, as you can certainly start your day off well and with a full tummy.

MARVELS 10th June to 30th Sept

We headed to the highlight of the Fam Trip Marvels – Super Heroes United Walt Disney Studios Park. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this but judging by the queues of visitors waiting to enter, I was sure it was going to be good. And it didn’t disappoint! The show was action packed and it was great to see the superheroes on stage. If you are a fan of Marvel, then I would definitely recommend it. The only downside is it is French & English could be a bit confusing at some times!

There is also two outdoor shows to enjoy Stark Expo presents Energy for tomorrow in English and French and Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Dance-Off.

Extras

The Disneyland Paris app as it is a great tool when planning your day. It shows ride wait times, show schedules and will also let you know if anything is closed for refurbishment. You can also find the locations of all your favourite characters for the meet and greets.

Another great item to purchase is a Photo Passe (69€ when bought in the park or 61€ if bought in advance). Once you have the pass, you simply download an app and register the card to it. Then any rides which take your photo or any character meet greets you do, the pass is scanned and the photos are automatically added to the app for you to download and do what you so wish. The pass can be used up to 10 consecutive days and you get up to 3 barcodes per booking so these can be shared amongst the group/family.

On our final morning after breakfast in the hotel, it was time to check out and leave our luggage for the Disney Express service. Again a great added extra which allows you to leave your luggage at the hotel and it will be taken to the Eurostar station for your collection before check-in allowing you to roam the parks at leisure.

It truly was a magical experience and I can’t wait to return in the future.
