Isn’t it amazing how time flies by? It seems like only yesterday we were considering coach holidays as gift ideas for Mothers Day and now all of a sudden Fathers Day is upon us! If like me you have no idea what to get the man who appears to have everything, we’ve cherry-picked some treats that are perfect to say ‘thank you’ for what Dad has done for you, who knows it may even put a smile on his face (so you can ask him for help again)!
London Theatre Breaks
Many would believe that theatre breaks are purely for the ladies to get together
and combine gossiping with some shopping, sightseeing and a trip to the theatre. The wide range of new shows hitting the West End proves that this isn’t necessarily the case so London theatre breaks will be perfect for Dad and you can let him choose from exciting shows such as War Horse, Million Dollar Quartet, The Jersey Boys and Stomp to name but a few. How about combining a show with a meal in one of London’s top eateries to really spoil Dad this Fathers Day?
Military Events and Battlefields
Some Fathers out there may have a passion for the military whether it means attending events such as the spectacular Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Birmingham Christmas Tattoo or crossing the Channel to visit or pay homage to the Battlefields. There are a wide variety of Battlefield Tours out there that would suit any Military enthusiast from the D-Day Landing Beaches of Normandy and the trench lines of The Somme to the emotional pull of The Last Post in Ypres.
Flower & Garden Shows
Is your dad a fan of the outdoor life and spends most of his time cultivating the
garden? Why not treat him with a visit to one of the many Garden and Flower Shows available in the UK this year. With show faves such as Hampton Court, Tatton Park and Chelsea, your father will be in his element making notes of which plants to buy and learning about all the latest gardening gadgets and gizmos that will help in the garden at home. He may even get to tackle the Gardening Experts with a problem he’s been experiencing in his garden at home!
The Grand Prix
Year on year the Grand Prix attracts millions of motoring enthusiasts and this could be the year that your dad could experience the adrenalin-fuelled rush of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. There’s no other race like it and this is the perfect opportunity for dad to experience the glitz and glamour of Formula One from the new iconic International Pit and Paddock facilities at the Silverstone Circuit. Really spoil him this year and treat him to European tours where he can experience the thrill of the Grand Prix races in Belgium, Monaco, Singapore and many more.
Concerts & Comedy
Is there a musician or comedian that your dad has been desperate to see live on stage but has never had the opportunity to do so? Now could be the perfect time to surprise him with tickets to see a whole host of comedians from Michael McIntyre to Alan Carr and not forgetting music legends such as Cliff Richard, Johnny Mathis and Jools Holland. If he’s a fan of these then he’s sure to have a fabulous night out.
Have these ideas been helpful for you? What will you be doing this Fathers Day to say thank you? We’d love to hear from you!
