The Guinness Storehouse

No visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse, it’s even known as the most popular tourist attraction because of this. Dublin CastleDublin Castle

Built in 1204, this castle has played a large part of British history for over 800 years. Today it is home to a complex of free museums, a Gothic Chapel Royal, the Viking-era Undercroft and the State Apartments. Visitors can grab a bite to eat at the Terrace tea rooms with a sunny south facing terrace – perfect for a summer visit.

Kilmainham Gaol

One of the more dramatic places to visit in Dublin, this atmospheric jail provides an abundance of history. Whilst in operation the Gaol was home to thousands of ordinary men, women and children – whose crimes ranged from petty offences to more serious crimes. Many convicts were held here before they were transported to Australia.

The Old Library & Book of Kells Exhibition

The richly decorated gospel manuscript of ‘The Book of Kells’ is one of Ireland’s greatest cultural treasures. It tells the story of the creation of the book and other magnificent manuscripts. Housed within a library at Trinity College, the building its spectacular with oak bookcases and vaulted ceilings. The surrounding grounds of Trinity College are also worth a wander.

Temple BarTemple Bar
