It’s official! We now have our full 2015 Strictly Come Dancing line up ready for the launch in September. Here’s a quick breakdown of who will be dancing this year:
The first celebrity to be announced was Radio Two host Jeremy Vine, who has said he is looking forward to embarrassing his family in the process – let’s just hope he’s better than last year’s contestant Judy Murray!
The second celebrity to be confirmed was none other than Ainsley Harriott, who has been dancing his way around TV sets of Ready Steady Cook and the likes for years. We’re a little surprised he wasn’t a contestant sooner!
EastEnders star Kellie Bright was the first female celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly. With her acting background we are pretty sure dancing should come fairly naturally.
Rival soap star Georgia May Foote may be more recognisable for strolling down the Corrie Cobbles, but she too will be popping on her dancing shoes for Strictly 2015.
BBC Radio 3 and Proms presenter Katie Derham was the fifth celeb to be announced, with her background around Classical music we think she might just have an edge.
BBC Breakfast Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood was unveiled as the next celebrity taking part during BBC Breakfast and we think her infectious laugh might win her many fans.
Australian Peter Andre was announced to the joy of many fans as the next celebrity to be taking to the Strictly ballroom.
It was to our absolute delight that Daniel O’Donnell was announced as the eighth celebrity to be putting on his dancing shows. Having sold Daniel O’Donnell tours in the past we already feel like key members in his Strictly fan club!
Boxer Antony Ogogo is sure to set a few hearts racing having been announced as the next celebrity to face Strictly. The Olympic Bronze medallist has previously appeared on Big Brother and is no stranger to reality TV.
We’re glad he came! The Wanted’s Jay McGuinness was the next celebrity to be announced for Strictly 2015. With the Wanted being a self-confessed stand and sing band with little or no choreography it will be interesting to see how Jay copes with the dance moves.
Anita Rani has been on our screens for years so it will be exciting to see how well she can do. With her Countryfile co-star Matt Baker making it to the Final can Anita replicate his effort?
‘Superstar’ singer Jamelia was announced as the next celebrity to be joining Strictly. Having spent many years in the music business doing choreography we’re sure she’ll be up to the task.
Call the Midwife! Star Helen George (or Trixie if you watch Call the Midwife) was the next celebrity announced. Having previously been trained in Musical Theatre we think Helen could well be a Strictly Gem.
The last male celebrity be announced was Iwan Thomas, Olympic athlete and TV presenter. He is sure to have the dedication needed to become a Strictly champion following years of athletic competition.
The final contestant announced was Kirsty Gallacher, having enjoyed a long career on Sky Sports News, Kirsty is a well-known face on sports television.
This year’s line up has turned out to be a great bunch… Who will be crowned 2015 Champion it’s too early to say, but one thing is for sure… We’re in for a great ride.
The launch show airs at 7.15pm on Saturday 5th September when the contestants will be paired up with their professional dance partners. Packages for the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour will go on sale soon – to register your interest click here.
