Last night a couple of the Door2Tour.com team were lucky enough to see new smash hit musical School of Rock at the New London Theatre in the West End.
Based on the iconic movie of the same name, School of Rock follows the story of Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who earns some extra money posing as a supply teacher at a private preparatory school. He turns a class of high achieving pupils into a mind-blowing rock band having seen them performing Mozart in music class. Trouble is, can he get the pupils and himself to Battle of the Bands to compete without the parents and headmistress finding out?
The musical is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest production, it has 14 new songs plus all the original songs from the movie including ‘Teacher’s Pet’. New song ‘Stick it to the Man’ is particularly catchy and will have you toe-tapping with the cast.
The young cast are incredible throughout, they have so much enthusiasm and energy the show is simply electric. And, as you are told at the beginning they are all playing their own instruments too – awesome! There are actually three child casts (39 children) appearing on School of Rock due to working restrictions, all are aged between 9-13 years old.
We’d recommend this musical to families and adults alike, there is plenty to enjoy for all ages. Coach packages are available on Door2Tour.com from £137pp.
