Here at Door2Tour.com we love practising what we preach or in this case visiting as many places as we can to get a real idea of where are customers are heading to! And so we embarked on a road trip to ‘Emmerdale’ also known as Esholt in West Yorkshire with our cameras to film a Door2Tour Miniguide for our video series.
Emmerdale tours are popular with fans young and old who can visit the locations found in the famous ITV soap which has been running for 42 years. Although filming now takes place on a closed set, Esholt was used between 1976-1996 and is instantly recognisable.
The stone cottages, the red telephone box on the corner and of course the Woolpack are exactly as we’d imagined and seen so many times on the television. We took time to stroll around the village and talk to the lady behind the bar at the Woolpack. We also got chatting to a couple who were doing their own tour of the famous TV and Film locations around Yorkshire. The atmosphere is very laid back and friendly, if you are feeling peckish there is also food available from the Woolpack itself.
Emmerdale tour packages allow visitors to explore the friendly village of Esholt including The Woolpack in addition to various other locations across Yorkshire. Some coach tours available also allow visitors to see Goathland which appeared as Aidensfield in Heartbeat, Holmfirth which can be seen in the Last of the Summer Wine and Otley which featured as Hotton in Emmerdale.
