Planning coach holidays to Europe? You know you should keep your luggage to a minimum, but what should you pack, and what can you leave behind? Here is what we suggest.
The Bag
Most of the coaches allow luggage of the same size as the ones on an airplane, along with a hand carry. But, the space on a coach is much less than an airplane, so instead of a hand carry, you would be better off with a smaller piece like a backpack or something similar.
The Clothes
Would casual clothing do or should you keep some formal attire as well? Depends on what you prefer, where you are headed and what time of the year it is. At least keep one formal or semi-formal piece for a special evening or a highlight dinner; you can skip the tie and tuxedo, but you keep the dress shirts and pants.
And by the way, if you would be going to a place of worship, you may be asked to cover your shoulders or knees.
The Laundry
This depends on the length of your trip. If it is of a week or 10 days, you would probably not need any laundry. If it’s longer, then yes. Or if you want, you could wash the items yourself.
The Size
You can easily find travel sized toothpastes, shampoos, lotions, creams and shaving gels at any local pharmacy. Be sure to get these so that you can save space.
And don’t forget sunscreen and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. You’ll need them a lot more than any of your other products!
The Umbrella
Do keep one if you don want to get wet.
The Labels
Put labels and stickers on all your luggage pieces. Clearly mention your name, contact number and home address.
