With today being a historical day in the history of the Great British Monarchy we thought we’d take a look at some of the best Royal sights to visit in the UK. After all, we’ll have to wait at least another 63 years plus to see if another future Monarch can beat it…
- Buckingham Palace
This was always going to be top of the list for places to visit when celebrating all things Royal. Open every year for a few weeks each summer, Buckingham Palace stands proudly as one of the most visited landmarks in London. - Tower of London
Whilst in the capital, you will need to make time for a visit to the Tower of London, steeped in hundreds of years of Royal history and home to the Crown Jewels, this is a must do to find out a little more about our history and heritage. Don’t miss the famous Yeoman Warders affectionately known as Beefeaters who you will find standing guard and giving tours of the Tower.
Hampton Court Palace
Another landmark in London for all things Royal is Hampton Court Palace. No longer a residence of the royal family; the Palace is open to visitors year round with its famous Flower Show taking place in the height of summer (early July). - Windsor Castle
Still used by the Queen and the Royal Family regularly, Windsor Castle is known as an official residence. The Queen often stays at Windsor castle for a month between March & April and during the week of Royal Ascot. Our Wimbledon trips include a visit to Windsor and a ticket to the Castle can be added on at a supplement, making it a great opportunity to visit. - Palace of Holyroodhouse
The Queen often uses Holyroodhouse as her residence in June and July during Holyroodhouse where lots of festivities take place. Prince Charles also resides here for one week a year. Balmoral Estate
Set amongst the stunning Scottish scenery Balmoral Estate is the Queen’s Primary residence during the summer from August – October when Buckingham Palace is open to the public. We already have some 2016 tours on sale for Balmoral Estate and various other Scottish locations.
- Sandringham Estate
The much loved country retreat of HM the Queen, Sandringham has been a private home of four generations of monarchs. Set in 24 hectares of gardens, the Country park in it’s ground is open to the public every day. Extra attention has been shone on Sandringham lately with the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Anmer Hall.
