The Emmerdale sets in Yorkshire dales outside of Leeds have been present there since 1998. The tour will be guided by coach operators who will take a group of tourists and big fans of the TV show around the set. The fictional village of Emmerdale has been built within the Harewood estate in Yorkshire dales. You will also come across many familiar places such as Bobs café, home farm, the woolpack, village church and lots of stone cottages in rows. The original Emmerdale Village, was initially built on the Esholt. As the location became overcrowded with visitors and tourists, filming actual scenes there became impossible for the actors. If you want to know a little history about the filming location tours that took place back in the 70s, they started the original filming of Emmerdale in the village of Arncliffe in Littondale , one of the lesser known and lesser visited valleys in Yorkshire dales. When people started to become aware of this film location in 1976, the crew and cast decided to shift elsewhere for filming and that is when they moved to Esholt , which remained the primary set for the next 22 years. The village of Esholt has now become a major tourist attraction and you can also come to the set on a coach tour to Emmerdale to see the beautiful village. You can even grab a drink at the village pub, which was originally and formerly a Commercial Hotel and was later renamed to The Woolpack Inn.

Other location footage also happens to take place in different areas such as West Yorkshire, which in the show is the fictional market town of Hotten. The coach tours to Emmerdale cover both the new and old locations. Some of the areas of the sets will require you to walk around and get off the coach so that you can go inside and take pictures and listen to stories from the guide. For people who cannot walk or who are on wheelchairs are not advised to come on this tour due to the cobbles, steps, and uneven paths.

The dates are 2nd April, 30th April, 28th May, 25th June, 30th July, 27th August, 24th September and 29th October 2017. The tour begins 11 in the morning and will be as long as 4 hours, 2 of which will be on the sets.

The rates vary according to the visitors’ age. 65 pounds per person for adults aged 16 to 65, 55 pounds per person for elderly aged 65 and above, and 55 pounds per person for kids under 16 years of age. The location to meet for the coach pick up will be right next to the Leeds railway station and you will be dropped back to the Leeds railway station once the trip has finished.

It is a guided tour and the guide will provide all the details and information about Emmerdale.  A return coach transfer and entry ticket, drinks will also be provided at the location stopovers. Families who have children under 3 years old, will not be provided with car or booster seats for kids, so you will have to arrange that yourself.
