A Break For All Seasons

OxfordOh well, we are now well and truly into the second month of the New Year and with that in mind, the team at Door2Tour coach holidays have come up with a mini guide of places you can visit during each month of the year. For each month of the year, we have chosen one destination that you should visit either this year, next or perhaps even the year after that – take a look at this…

January
This is one of those long months where everyone is trying to make their December pay cheque last that bit longer! You needn’t be stuck at home though as there are plenty of holiday superdeals available so you can enjoy a great-value mini break to places such as Oxford, Edinburgh, Blackpool and the Isle of Wight to name but a few.

February
The month of romance so sweep your special someone off their feet with a city break to some wonderful European destinations such as Paris, Bruges, Prague or Barcelona. On the other hand, if you fancy staying closer to home take your loved one to Edinburgh, Liverpool, London or The Cotswolds for a romantic break away that won’t break the bank!

March
Spring has officially sprung this month so take advantage of the wonderful scenery as flowers begin to bloom with a short break to the Lake District, The Highlands or even The Eden Project. This month is also when we celebrate St David’s Day in Wales and St Patrick’s Day in Ireland, what better excuse do you need to visit either of these countries and join in with the celebrations?

April
A perfect month to see the beauty of the Bulbfields with a short break to Amsterdam. Not only do you get to explore this fascinating city and enjoy a spot of sightseeing, you can also enjoy a relaxing river cruise along the waterways with a stop off at the world famous Keukenhof Gardens – definitely something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime!

May
Usually the month for Flower Shows and 2013 is no exception as the Chelsea Flower Show celebrates its centenary. Many wonderful show gardens will be on display to view as well as all the latest gardening gadgets and gizmos to improve your own at home. Fingers crossed the British weather behaves itself so you have an enjoyable day out.

June
Those of you who do not have children maybe planning a break away during June so you can enjoy some relaxation before the schools close for the summer. If you fancy escaping the usual tourist haunts, why not consider holidaying in Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary or northern Spain? All offer the ingredients for a perfect getaway minus the crowds so give them a go this year.

New OrleansJuly

Celebrate Independence Day with a tour of America and this time avoid the usual tourist haunts and head to the Deep South. This is the home of jazz, rock n’ roll and blues so if you’re a fan a visit to Gracelands, Memphis and New Orleans should feature high on your ‘to do’ list.

August
For those who do not know, this is the month for the spectacle that is the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Whilst taking a holiday in Scotland during this month, you will not regret visiting Edinburgh Castle for what is classed as THE military event of the year! You’ll also have plenty of time to explore the Lochs, Highlands and maybe hop on a steam train to Mallaig – truly unforgettable.

September
This is the month to visit the USA especially if you have never experienced New England in the fall. You’ll soon discover that everywhere you look, you’ll be faced with an explosion of red, purple and gold. This is truly an experience you will never forget so make sure you visit New England at some point in your life – budgets allowing obviously!

October

Now in the midst of Autumn and waiting for winter to arrive, where could you possibly visit during this dismal month? Add
a bit of colour and fun into your life with a short break to Disneyland Resort Paris where you can stay in an on-site hotel, take advantage of the extra hour to enjoy the rides, have your photo taken with your favourite character and watch the awesome Disney Parades.

November
With Christmas not too far away, this could probably be the month when you start to think about what gifts to get for family and friends. Have you considered a Shopper Weekend? There’s nothing nicer after a hard day trudging the High Street than being taken to a comfortable hotel for an overnight stay combined with a little relaxation and maybe a spot of pampering too!

December
There’s no end to the things you can do during lead-up to the festive period and beyond. Visit the continental Christmas Markets for that extra-special gift, spend Christmas in the warmer climes of The Caribbean or cruise the waterways of The Rhine during Twixmas as you wait for the New Year to arrive!
