So here we go – you’ve got two weeks left to go before the holidays are upon you and we bet here at Door2Tour that you’re wondering what’s next on the checklist? To make life a little easier for you, we’ve listed a few tips below to help your touring holiday run a little more smoothly for you. If you have any tips of your own, send them to us and we’ll get them added!
Pre-empt with a 1st Aid Box
The Summer months and territories abroad tend to bring with them a variety of insect bites, hayfever, and eveyone’s holiday nightmare – sunburn. With that in mind, it’s probably best to have a well-stocked First Aid Kit before your coach tour starts so you can attend to any little emergencies. If you’re super prepared with a first aid box and no-one else is, you’ll also be flavour of the month on the tour!
Entertainment
We don’t know about you but during the Winter months, we tend to need more space so we’ll box up all the Summer-related stuff and store in the loft until the Holidays return. If you’re travelling with a family, why not take stock of what toys and games your family may need for the Summer. Check out the garage, shed and any other ‘nook and cranny’ for buckets, spades and balls that are perfect for days out in the park or down by the beach. At the end of the day, it’s always best to be prepared to prevent the age old saying ‘Mum/Dad – I’m bored’. If not, don’t forget to pack any guidebooks, mp3 players or anything else you may need to keep you occupied during your UK or European break.
Does it still work?
There’s nothing more niggling that arriving at your holiday destination only to find that your mp3 player has given up the ghost, or finding that you’ve left the smart card for your camera in the laptop at home – eek! Don’t forget to complete a mini MOT of your electrical items before you set off to make sure everything’s in good working order. Watersport material will also need to be checked before you head down to the beach – things such as lilos, dinghies and anything else that could possibly have a hole in it..
Read, Read, Read!
The Summer Holidays are perfect for lounging about in the garden when the sun is shining with a good book so make sure you have plenty of new titles to keep you occupied over the summer months. The beauty of an electronic reading device like a Kindle is that you don’t have to eat into your luggage allowance or use all-important suitcase space carrying a handful of books. Don’t forget to download new novels in time for your holiday.
